When Should You Renew?

You should apply for renewal at least 30 days before the expiry date. In most states, trade licenses expire on 31st December and renewal applications should be submitted by 30th November.

Renewal Process

  1. Gather your existing trade license certificate
  2. Fill the renewal application form at the municipal office or online portal
  3. Submit updated address proof (if the shop has moved)
  4. Pay the renewal fee (usually same as the original fee)
  5. Collect the renewed certificate

Late Renewal Penalty

If you miss the deadline, most municipalities charge a late fee of 25%–100% on the original license fee for every year of delay. Some states may also require fresh inspection of premises.
